We are living in a world that's both beautiful and ugly. The beauty surrounds us every day in God's creations, nature and lovely people. But so too does the ugly, with wars, starvation, disease, depravity, child abuse, destruction of family life and the mass murder of children within the mother's womb.

We have become de-sensitised to crime, drug abuse, promiscuity, adultery, incest, murder and yes, even war. TV, radio, magazines, newspapers and the internet have become tools of destruction, and television, in particular, rules our lives. We have become so busy that for many of us the Lord has second, last, or even no place in our hectic lives. (See Satan's Busy Bees) So let us make use of this particular tool, the Internet, to start something worthwhile - a world wide circle of prayer. "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them" Mt.18:20.

Take a quick look at the world today and it's easy to see we are in big trouble.

  • Fanatics murder and cause havoc in the name of God, Religion and National Sovereignty!
  • Political fanatics kill and maim in the name of Freedom!
  • National leaders slaughter their own people or allow them to die of starvation in order to arm their Military Governments.
  • Legislation is passed under the guise of 'freedom of rights' but whose freedoms and whose rights?
  • Innocent children are used and abused in a most horrific way through war, slavery, and prostitution.
  • Third World Debt hangs over nations like a black cloud with no visible means of a way out from under it.
  • Human Rights are denied and the so-called guardians of Human Rights advocate and condone the mass murder of our future leaders through abortion.
  • Cultural traditions result in the deaths of millions of female children rather than change the old traditions of dowries etc.
  • Population control methods result in the mass murder of unborn children.
  • Communism denies freedom of speech and choice.
  • Money is the seed of much evil - drug dealing, black markets, stock market manipulation, armaments sales & exports, unethical business practices, financial wheeler-dealing!
  • Ethics in Business is diminishing in favour of the 'Almighty Dollar'!
  • The Media controls us in a most powerful way.
Down through the ages we are exhorted to pray through our belief in a Greater Being (God). Our religious and church leaders ask us to pray daily.  Let us listen to these calls by dedicating just 10 - 30 minutes every day to add our prayers to the thousands of others around the world.  I invite anyone and everyone to join together in prayer, all creeds and none, in your own words, your own time and in your own way.

Sure, the idea is childlike - not childish mind you - and until we become like little children believing in God's presence and great love for us and knowing that all we ask of Him will be granted, then how will we ever know. This website is placed in the hands of the Lord and we pray that in His Mercy He will guide it and hear us, His praying people. The how, where, when, who and which are all answered at the links for you. God Bless the Work and the People He Uses to Touch Others - all of you who decide to Give God a Go!

This page in the website is called Circle The World With Prayer - Why? I challenge you - Why Not?

Moytura has several other sites with a 'Christian flavour'. Prayerful Thoughts & Thoughtful Prayers is a little collection of prayers and thought-provoking stories, and a few links to some other really nice websites. Reflections for Lent offers a daily meditation for the 40 days of lent and the week leading into Easter. As part of my Journey section of the website join me to learn a little of the Early Christian Church in Ireland by visiting Clonmacnoise, founded by St. Ciaran on the banks of the River Shannon in the 6th. Century. Read about Saint Brendan the Navigator who started a Monastic settlement in the tiny village of Clonfert in the 6th century, located on the Galway/Offaly/Tipperary border. Travel on my journeys to two of Canada's most famous Catholic Shrines - Saint Anne de Beaupré and Cap de la Madeleine, both on the shores of the Saint Lawrence river in Quebec. Finally I welcome you to come with me to see a little of Medugorje, a peaceful haven in a war-torn country - Bosnia-Herzogovina. Please also pay a visit to  Moytura's Irish Bookshop where you can find books on the history of Christianity in IrelandIrish Prayers and Celtic Christianity
