Our Prayer Circle is for absolutely everyone, man, woman or child, wherever you live or work in the world, whether you are Christian or non-christian, a member of the many other religious groups or claim no religious affiliation at all. EVERYONE IS WELCOME AND INVITED TO JOIN IN!

Every living being is a beautiful and blessed child of God, even those who have lost their way and gone astray in life. No child is born evil, every child is born needing the loving touch and care of a parent or carer. Don't be afraid to hug. Parents hug your children; kids hug your parents - even adult kids. Research is showing that many prisoners in care for serious crime were never hugged, loved or nurtured as children. Never received an encouraging word. Never felt loved or wanted. These are all basic needs and society, parents and carers can make or break a child by giving or withholding a loving smile, touch or word of encouragement. (See Children)

  • Parents - pray for and with your children.
  • Teachers - pray that your words and methods encourage and develop children. See behind the tantrums and disruption and try to find the hurts.
  • Youth Leaders and Social Workers - pray for and with those in your care and see the beauty of God within every person with whom you come into contact.
  • Church Ministers - pray that you will always be good and faithful shepherds to your flocks, leading in humility and by example.
  • Politicians - pray before every decision, placing it in the hands of the Lord and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Let no decision harm the weakest and most vulnerable in society.
  • National Leaders - pray that your leadership is fair to all, worthy of the position of responsibility you hold and uplifting to all your people.
  • Business Folk - pray that all your dealings with your workers and customers are fair and honest.
  • Workers - pray that you will give an honest day's work to your employers with integrity in all you do.
  • Media Folk - pray that your words and reportings are truthful, honest and transparent, fair and balanced.
  • Fire Officers - pray for and with your colleagues daily to protect you all from danger and for those who will call and depend on you for their safety.
  • Police Workers - pray for and with your colleagues for their safety before you start each day's work. Pray for all those with whom you will come into contact that you will have the courage and strength to treat with the same respect and dignity you would give a family member.
  • Prisoners - pray for and with your fellow inmates for insight into your own hearts, repentance for any wrongs you have done and forgiveness from the Lord and those whom you hurt or harmed by your actions. Pray also for the courage to renounce your life of crime and place your future in the hands of God to lead you on the right path in life and towards Him.
  • Prison officers - pray for and with the inmates, treating them with the same respect and dignity you would any member of your own family, regardless of their attitude towards you.
  • Health Care Workers - pray for and with your patients, placing all their ills in the gentle healing hands of the Lord. Let no decision of yours ever remove that respect for life from its very beginning to its natural end.
  • Scientists - pray that your research will never cause harm to another living being, especially those in the early stages of life. Respect life as a gift from God, not something to be used for experimentation. Pray for a God-given enlightenment to find the cures for illnesses and to respect the natural order of things.
  • Regardless of your personal religious beliefs you must feel the pain and suffering of all those caught in desperate situations. Let us plant this tiny mustard seed of prayer and watch it grow into a tree so big it covers the whole world.

Moytura has several other sites with a 'Christian flavour'. Prayerful Thoughts & Thoughtful Prayers is a little collection of prayers and thought-provoking stories, and a few links to some other really nice websites. Reflections for Lent offers a daily meditation for the 40 days of lent and the week leading into Easter. As part of my Journey section of the website join me to learn a little of the Early Christian Church in Ireland by visiting Clonmacnoise, founded by St. Ciaran on the banks of the River Shannon in the 6th. Century. Read about Saint Brendan the Navigator who started a Monastic settlement in the tiny village of Clonfert in the 6th century, located on the Galway/Offaly/Tipperary border. Travel on my journeys to two of Canada's most famous Catholic Shrines - Saint Anne de Beaupré and Cap de la Madeleine, both on the shores of the Saint Lawrence river in Quebec. Finally I welcome you to come with me to see a little of Medugorje, a peaceful haven in a war-torn country - Bosnia-Herzogovina.
