Blessed Anna-Maria Taigi (19th century, Italy)

Popes and cardinals have referred to this holy married woman as one of the greatest saints of all time. She was praised by Pope Benedict XV in her beatification on May 20, 1920 as being an exemplary wife and mother amid poor and trying circumstances. She was frequently in ecstasy, worked miracles of healing, read hearts, foretold deaths, and saw visions on the coming of future events. She foretold the first two world wars of this century. Eighteen years after her death, her body remained fresh and in a state of perfect preservation as if it had been just buried the day before. The following is her prophecy on the three days of darkness.

"God will send two punishments: one will be in the form of wars, revolutions and other evils; it shall originate on earth. The other will be sent from Heaven. There shall come over the whole earth an intense darkness lasting three days and three nights. Nothing can be seen, and the air will be laden with pestilence which will claim mainly, but not only, the enemies of religion. It will be impossible to use any man-made lighting during this darkness, except blessed candles. He, who out of curiosity, opens his window to look out, or leaves his home, will fall dead on the spot. During these three days, people should remain in their homes, pray the Rosary and beg God for mercy."

"All the enemies of the Church, whether known or unknown, will perish over the whole earth during that universal darkness, with the exception of a few whom God will soon convert. The air shall be infected by demons who will appear under all sorts of hideous forms."

"Religion shall be persecuted, and priests massacred Churches shall be closed, but only for a short time. The Holy Father shall be obliged to leave Rome." (Yves Dupont, Catholic Prophecy,Tan Books and Publishers, 1973)

Marie Julie Jahenny of La Fraudais (19th century, France)

Known as the "The Breton Stigmatist" she survived for five years from 1875 to 1880 only on Holy Communion and water. See her visions and prophesies from the link.

St. Pius X (20th century, Italy - 1835-1914)

"I saw one of my successors taking to flight over the bodies of his brethren. He will take refuge in disguise somewhere and after a short retirement he will die a cruel death. The present wickedness of the world is only the beginning of the sorrows which must take place before the end of the world." (Yves Dupont, Catholic Prophecy,Tan Books and Publishers, 1973)

Ide Peerdeman (Amsterdam 1905 - 1996)

The first apparition of Mary as the Lady of All Nations took place in Amsterdam on March 25, 1945, the Feast of the Annunciation. Her coming was an event that occurred in all silence and simplicity, hidden from the eyes of the world. This was the first of a series of fifty-six apparitions which have become known as ‘The Messages of the Lady of All Nations’. The last message, a majestic farewell-vision, would be received fourteen years later, on May 31, 1959.

Sister Elena Aiello (20th Century, Italy 1895-1961)

She was a Foundress of a religious order, a holy nun, a victim soul, and Stigmatist.

The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared and told her on August 22, 1960:
" . . . if people . . . do not return to God with truly Christian living, another terrible war will come from the East to the West. Russia with her secret armies will battle America: will overrun Europe. The river Rhine will be overflowing with corpses and blood. Italy will also be harassed by a great revolution, and the Pope will suffer terribly."

The Blessed Virgin showed her other visions during 1959-1961:

"Oh, what a horrible vision I see! A great revolution is going on in Rome! They are entering the Vatican. The Pope is all alone; he is praying. They are holding the Pope. They take him by force. They knock him down to the floor. They are tying him. Oh. God! Oh, God! They are kicking him. What a horrible scene! How dreadful!"

"Our Blessed Mother is drawing near. Like corpses those evil men fall down to the floor. Our Lady helps the Pope to his feet and, taking him by the arm, She covers him with her mantle saying: Fear not!'

"Russia will march upon all the nations of Europe, particularly Italy, and will raise her flag over the dome of St. Peter's. Italy will be severely tried by a great revolution, and Rome will be purified in blood for its many sins, especially those of impurity. The flock is about to be dispersed and the Pope will suffer greatly."

Theresa Neumann (20th century Germany 1898-1962)

During Lent of 1926 Yheresa experienced a voice telling her,

"You must suffer more and cooperate with priests for the salvation of souls." She mystically received Our Lord's Five Wounds in her hands, feet and side. "I saw Jesus on the Mount of Olives. Suddenly, while I was looking at Him, I felt such a pain in my side that I thought I was going to die. At the same time, I felt as though something hot was running down me. It was blood."

One important lesson taught by Our Lord to Therese Neumann was the value of a priest's blessing.

Sister Agnes Sasagawa (Akita, Japan 1973 to date)

"The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against other bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres (other priests). Churches and altars will be sacked. The Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord."

Maria Esperanza Bianchini  (Betania, Venezuela 1976 to date)

Mrs. María Esperanza has received innumerable Messages of Our Blessed Mother since she was very young.

First Apparition: March 25, 1976 - 8:30 a.m.

"Daughter, here you have Me with My Hands enriched with graces and covered with splendors of light, to call all My children to conversion; this is the seed of glory I offer as "MARY RECONCILER OF PEOPLE AND NATIONS", for I come to reconcile all of you. Reconciliation is the inheritance of divine brotherhood of My Divine Son! Daughter, hand on My message to all. I will keep you here in My Heart from today on and forever!"

Julia Kim  (Naju, Korea 1985 to date)

On June 30, 1985, Our Lady's statue owned by Julia began weeping tears, and on October 19, 1986 it began weeping tears of blood. Until January 14, 1992, the statue wept for a total of exactly 700 days. The tears of blood were tested and found to be human blood. Many people, including priests witnessed that the Sacred Host Julia received was turning light brown first and then being covered with blood. Many people began firmly believing in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist because of these miracles.

There have been almost a hundred reported sites of apparition in the 20th century and of these 10 have full church approval,  3 have had permission to promote denied by the local bishop and 3 have been condemned. It remains to be seen whether the remainder will prove themselves to be genuine.
