There is a plethora of reported Private Revelations or Mystics from all around the world today and Ireland is no exception. What's the reason? Have we all become caught up in 'End Times' prophesy or is there perhaps something much deeper going on? The world continues to plummet into the depths of depravity and sin, could the very Heavens be crying out for repentance and conversion in these modern times as the prophets of old did in the Old Testament? Why would God allow us in the 21st century to allienate Him so drastically and not try to warn us of our errors and offer a chance to change our ways? Are we not in a worse situation than ever Sodom and Gomorrah were? Is there a limitation placed on Christ which stops Him from using humans as His 'voice'?

As always, the Church exercises extreme caution when it comes to Private Revelations and the Visions of Mystics and sets out a strict criteria with which it investigates such phenomena. This is further discussed in Private Revelations Explained.

Here we attempt to look at what appears to be happening in Ireland, once the most Christian of countries. Sadly that is no longer the case and we are on a downward spiral no different from anywhere else in the world. Could it be that those souls who say they are receiving messages from both the Lord Jesus Christ and the Blesed Virgin are actually being used as the 'voice of God' to tell His people that all is not well?

I suppose the words of Scripture "Those with eyes to see and ears to hear" have to bring some truth to what is happening, for surely we would need to be blind and deaf not to recognise a world so lost in sin that it is on a pathway of self-destruction. These pages tell of four such individuals or partnerships who are bringing their 'message of hope' to both Ireland and the rest of the world.

I cannot suggest what to think but can only say, read with an open mind but always with the help of the Holy Spirit for Discernment and Wisdom as to what you read. If the only thing we ever do as a result of these messages is to change our hearts, live the Gospel, remain true to our faith and Church teachings and return to a life of genuine and holy prayer as a result of reading what they have to say, then much will indeed been achieved. The links to each of the four can be found above and additional pages have been allocated to The Two Patricks in Cookstown in County Tyrone, as they are the ones I am most familiar with.

In conformity to Pope Urban VIIIí Decree and the directives of the Council Vatican II, the author declares not to have the intention to precede the judgment of the Church about the supernatural character of facts and messages related on this page. This judgment belongs to competent authorities of the Church, to whom the author submits fully. Words like « apparitions, miracles, messages » and similar have here the value of human witness.

Moytura has several other sites with a 'Christian flavour'. Prayerful Thoughts & Thoughtful Prayers is a little collection of prayers and thought-provoking stories, and a few links to some other really nice websites. Reflections for Lent offers a daily meditation for the 40 days of lent and the week leading into Easter. As part of my Journey section of the website join me to learn a little of the Early Christian Church in Ireland by visiting Clonmacnoise, founded by St. Ciaran on the banks of the River Shannon in the 6th. Century. Read about Saint Brendan the Navigator who started a Monastic settlement in the tiny village of Clonfert in the 6th century, located on the Galway/Offaly/Tipperary border. Travel on my journeys to two of Canada's most famous Catholic Shrines - Saint Anne de Beaupré and Cap de la Madeleine, both on the shores of the Saint Lawrence river in Quebec. Finally I welcome you to come with me to see a little of Medugorje, a peaceful haven in a war-torn country - Bosnia-Herzogovina.
