The answer to How is quite simple, just Do!

When we write down something we intend to do somehow it makes it more real to us. You know the old saying... 'the road to hell is paved with good intentions' and I'm as guilty as anyone - "I meant to do this or that but.....". Here then is an opportunity to commit to something that will prove worthwhile, of that I have no doubt! Above is a link to a form to Join our Prayer Circle. Dedicate a time that best suits you. Decide that you will give 10-30 minutes a day at that dedicated time and 'switch off the world' to spend it in prayer, meditation, silence but with the full focus on God.

If your time clashes with something occassionally, just slot in your few minutes earlier or later. Driving to and from work is a great time to spend in prayer. Organise small groups to join in, invite family, friends, work colleagues and neighbours to join you. Introduce it to your friends at church, synagogue or temple, social club or sports centres. Each Sunday our Mass leaflet has a little reflection on the back and it is significant that on Sunday, March 3rd. 2002, it read as follows:

"Lord Jesus You are presented today as someone whose word reaches out to all people without exception. The original hearers of today's Gospel may have been disturbed; first of all that You were discovered talking with a woman and secondly that it was one of those who were regarded as outsiders. The Samaritans believed in You and recognised You as the Saviour of the world. Today, may we be disturbed from any attitude which excludes, to think again, sure in the knowledge that we are all equal in Your sight and all equally loved by Your Father and ours. Amen."

The prayers from the true heart of a peace-loving and honest christian are no more welcome to God than those from the true heart of a peace-loving and honest non-christian. Remember we are all His children, equal in His eyes and loved unconditionally in equal portions!

It would be great if we could get people praying at the same time for the same intentions - general ones for the whole world and collective ones for our own intentions. Differences in time zones around the world may make it difficult for some to join in at the exact time specified. Just select a time to suit you each day.

For others, work, study or leisure might interfere at times, don't worry, find a quiet time during your day to spend your own 10 minutes or so. I've bought myself one of those cheapie watches with an alarm and have it set to go off at 5-30pm Irish time. If the time doesn't suit, just select one that does. The intention is to get as many people as possible covering the world with prayer. You can find a page of Prayers with suggestions.

Moytura has several other sites with a 'Christian flavour'. Prayerful Thoughts & Thoughtful Prayers is a little collection of prayers and thought-provoking stories, and a few links to some other really nice websites. Reflections for Lent offers a daily meditation for the 40 days of lent and the week leading into Easter. As part of my Journey section of the website join me to learn a little of the Early Christian Church in Ireland by visiting Clonmacnoise, founded by St. Ciaran on the banks of the River Shannon in the 6th. Century. Read about Saint Brendan the Navigator who started a Monastic settlement in the tiny village of Clonfert in the 6th century, located on the Galway/Offaly/Tipperary border. Travel on my journeys to two of Canada's most famous Catholic Shrines - Saint Anne de Beaupré and Cap de la Madeleine, both on the shores of the Saint Lawrence river in Quebec. Finally I welcome you to come with me to see a little of Medugorje, a peaceful haven in a war-torn country - Bosnia-Herzogovina.
