My one and only reason for including this page is to assure you that I am no religious fanatic or nut! I'm an ordinary mother of 6, grandmother of 6, one of whom is in heaven, former nurse and now a web designer working from home. I started web designing in 1998 when an old back injury forced early retirement. I suppose the longer I live the more I realise the importance of a regular prayer life, both for me and my whole family and also for the world at large. There has always been a spiritual dimension in my life, probably because my husband, the kindest and gentlest of men, is an alcoholic, and without a prayer life I'd have gone years ago. We are now over 31 years married!

Oh... I fought it and ranted and raved at it but it was only putting my own blood pressure up, already a heriditary gift from my Dad. In 1998, after my first trip to Medugorje, I realised the folly of all the fighting and now place him and my hurt and bewildered children in the hands of the Lord and His Blessed Mother. In our weaknesses He is our strength!

It's not difficult to realise the power of the Internet and I try to disseminate a little bit of good to counter-balance all the smut and rubbish that flies around in cyber-space. On Ash Wednesday evening of 2000 I got a 'nudge' to do a set of pages with little Lenten Reflections. These proved to be popular and in 2002 a new set is up - Reflections for Lent 2002. People from all over the world wrote commenting on them. Imagine - emails from, Russia, China and Korea - oh ... did they ever do the heart good!

After my return from a return trip to Medugorje in 2001 I signed up to spend an hour in front of the Blessed Sacrament each week in one of the Galway Churches. So now, every Friday morning from 1 - 2 am, I relax with the Lord, bringing him all my family stuff, my work issues, my problems and my joys. It's in this quiet hour of relaxation with the Lord that I 'boost my spiritual battery' for the week.

My trip in 2002 saw me coming home with a 'hunger' for the Eucharist and now try to get daily Mass if possible. We are now in the process of starting Eucharistic Adoration here in my own parish. In the 2003 New Year we started a House Prayer Group here at home with the hope that someone in each village of the parish will do the same. Little powerhouses of prayer covering the whole parish!

The purpose of this website is to try and form a Circle of Prayer Around the World using the Internet. No, not sitting in front of the monitor praying - but if that helps then great, rather, to put in motion a set time every day when those who would like to join in can just set aside 10 - 30 minutes to focus on our Creator and pray or converse with Him. Each of the links may answer some of your questions for you. May our Father in Heaven, Jesus and Mary Bless us in all we do and may the Holy Spirit ever be our source of inspiration.

Moytura has several other sites with a 'Christian flavour'. Prayerful Thoughts & Thoughtful Prayers is a little collection of prayers and thought-provoking stories, and a few links to some other really nice websites. Reflections for Lent offers a daily meditation for the 40 days of lent and the week leading into Easter. As part of my Journey section of the website join me to learn a little of the Early Christian Church in Ireland by visiting Clonmacnoise, founded by St. Ciaran on the banks of the River Shannon in the 6th. Century. Read about Saint Brendan the Navigator who started a Monastic settlement in the tiny village of Clonfert in the 6th century, located on the Galway/Offaly/Tipperary border. Travel on my journeys to two of Canada's most famous Catholic Shrines - Saint Anne de Beaupré and Cap de la Madeleine, both on the shores of the Saint Lawrence river in Quebec. Finally I welcome you to come with me to see a little of Medugorje, a peaceful haven in a war-torn country - Bosnia-Herzogovina. Please also pay a visit to  Moytura's Irish Bookshop where you can find books on the history of Christianity in IrelandIrish Prayers and Celtic Christianity
