Kay's Story

I got pregnant the summer after I graduated from high school and before I went away to college. I was against abortions for careless females, but when it happened to me I felt that it was my only alternative. Me and my boyfriend have been together for 2 years. I had taken a pregnancy test during the summer when I suspected my period was late but it was negative. I really was taking the test along with a friend who thought she was pregnant not really thinking I could be pregnant. Besides, my periods were kind of irregular, so I didn't think I was pregnant. I went away to school and started having all the symptoms along with still not getting my period after 2 months. My boyfriend knew I was pregnant so I took a test and I was. Surprisingly I was happy. My first instinct was happy instead of upset. But I knew I was away from home and just went to college so I couldn't raise a child. I was too worried about what evryone would think of me and so was my boyfriend. He was by my side 100% and even went with me to get the abortion. During and after the abortion I cried and cried for my child. Now, I wish I was not so selfish and we would have been more knowledgeable and we would't have made this decision. Only if I wasn't so scared to tell my parents, I would have my baby. I still cry about it and this happened 6 months agao. I pray to God to forgive me and my boyfriend. I also pray that he gives me another chance and send me my baby back. I apologize to my unborn child for my ignorance and my selfishness. I would not wish this pain on my closest enemy and I will never, ever have an abortion again.
